How SHIELD
Was Founded.
After 30 years in the Construction Industry working as a Commercial and Contractual lead for Developers, Main Contractors and Turnkey Fit Out Contractors, Brendan Carbery, Founder and Managing Director of Shield Contract Services, felt the time was right to set up an advisory service offering support to, predominantly, Specialist/Subcontractors and Suppliers in the GCC.
“SHIELD was borne, initially, from the frustration of seeing top quality subcontractors going out of business after signing up to onerous contracts and being caught in the spiral of ‘paid when paid’ dubious conditions.
From this we noticed that the partners that had signed up to us, when pulled together as a collective, provided an ideal solution to most of the employers and clients within our network.”
Shield Contract Services have since worked with employers from initial project feasibility/briefing stages, through the design and consultancy selection process, to tendering and delivery of the project.
